General installation overview. Follow the service manual for your exact engine and carburetor configuration. Fuel-system work requires the appropriate skills and precautions.

  1. Verify identification and prepare the workspace: Confirm the engine model designation, cylinder configuration (60° V4 or 60° V6 Looper), and carburetor reference number before disassembly. Shut down the engine, let it cool, isolate the fuel supply and ignition system per your service manual, and work in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
  2. Disassemble and compare seal components: Document fuel hose routing and linkage positions before removing the carburetor. Disassemble the carburetor according to the factory service manual, clean the sealing surfaces carefully, and compare each removed seal or gasket against the supplied kit components to ensure an exact match.
  3. Reassemble and inspect for leaks: Install only the matching replacement seals and components following the procedures and specifications in your service manual. Reinstall the carburetor, restore the fuel supply, and inspect all joints for fuel leaks. Only test-run the outboard with a proper cooling water supply connected, and stop immediately if any fuel leak, binding linkage, or abnormal operation occurs.
