1395-5109-1 Carburetor Repair Kit Fits Mercury Mariner 650 (65 HP)

This XR Marine carburetor repair kit is intended for servicing and rebuilding listed Mercury Mariner engines equipped with specific WMK series carburetors. It is a repair kit for component-level carburetor maintenance, not a complete replacement carburetor assembly. Because fitment depends on the exact WMK carburetor version installed on the engine, verify both your engine application and the stamped carburetor designation before ordering.

Free shipping on all orders. Lifetime warranty for product quality defects. Normal wear and tear excluded.

Installation Guide

General installation overview. Follow the service manual for your exact engine and carburetor configuration. Fuel-system work requires the appropriate skills and precautions.

  1. Preparation and Identification: Ensure the engine is shut off and cool, disconnect the battery, and isolate the fuel supply in a well-ventilated workspace away from ignition sources. Before disassembly, confirm the stamped WMK carburetor version on the carburetor body and compare the supplied kit components against your service requirements.
  2. Disassembly and Component Inspection: Document fuel hose routing and throttle or choke linkage positions before removal. Disassemble the carburetor according to your Mercury Mariner service manual, clean the passages and sealing surfaces with appropriate carburetor cleaner, and lay out the original parts side by side with the new kit pieces to verify matching profiles.
  3. Reassembly and Leak Check: Replace only the serviceable components that match your specific WMK carburetor version and reassemble following the factory service manual procedures and adjustments. Reconnect the fuel line, prime the system to inspect for any fuel leaks before starting, and test run the engine only with a proper cooling water supply; shut down immediately if any fuel leak, binding linkage, or abnormal operation occurs.

Before You Order

A careful fitment check helps you choose the right part the first time.

  • Match the full engine model designation on the identification plate.
  • Check the individual application entry and any carburetor-version or serial-number restrictions.
  • Compare the complete OEM reference number, including its suffix. Horsepower or appearance alone is not enough.
  • Confirm the package contents and the quantity needed for your repair.
  • Verify the exact WMK carburetor version stamped on your carburetor body, preserving all numbers, letters, and suffixes.
  • Remember that this listing is a carburetor repair kit for servicing existing WMK carburetors, not a complete carburetor assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about this product and its application.

Can I select this repair kit based only on my Mercury Mariner engine horsepower?

No. Engine horsepower alone is not enough to identify the right kit. Mercury Mariner engines across 40 HP to 150 HP used multiple carburetor configurations, and this kit only fits the specific WMK carburetor versions listed in our fitment section.

How do I check if my WMK carburetor is covered?

Locate the WMK model designation stamped on your carburetor body and compare the full number, along with your engine model and horsepower, against each individual entry in the Fitment section. If your carburetor is marked near an ambiguous designation such as WMK 1.8 or WMK 17, contact XR Marine with photos and engine details to confirm before ordering.

Is this product a complete replacement carburetor or a repair kit?

This product is a carburetor repair kit for servicing and rebuilding an existing listed WMK carburetor. It is not a complete replacement carburetor assembly.

Why are several OEM and aftermarket numbers listed in the reference table?

Numbers such as Mercury Mariner 1395-5109-1, 1395-51091, 139551091, 1395-5109, Sierra 18-97352, 18-7021, 18-7061, GLM 40480, and RECMAR REC40480 are provided for cross-checking part references. Always match the complete number including suffixes and verify your exact WMK carburetor version rather than assuming all reference numbers are unconditionally interchangeable.

How can I confirm the exact components and quantity included in the package?

Because detailed component counts are not itemized on this page, please contact XR Marine before ordering to confirm the exact supplied contents and how many kits you need for multi-carburetor engines.

What shipping and warranty policies apply to this kit?

All orders include free shipping with no minimum order value. XR Marine also provides a lifetime warranty covering product quality defects, while normal wear and tear is excluded.
