Shut off the engine, allow it to cool completely, isolate the fuel supply and ignition system as specified in your service manual, and work in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
  2. Remove the existing carburetor and compare interfaces: Document the routing and orientation of all fuel lines, throttle linkages and choke connections before removal. Remove the old carburetor according to the service manual and compare its mounting flange, linkage connections, fuel inlet and external ports directly against the replacement assembly.
  3. Install, check for leaks and perform adjustments: Mount the carburetor assembly and reconnect all linkages and hoses following the service manual procedures. Restore fuel supply and inspect carefully for any fuel leaks or linkage binding before starting. Test-run the engine only with the proper cooling water supply connected, and perform any idle or synchronization adjustments required by your manual. Stop immediately if fuel leakage, throttle binding or abnormal operation occurs.
