Installation Guide

General installation overview. Follow the service manual for your exact engine and carburetor configuration. Fuel-system work requires the appropriate skills and precautions.

1. Verify Part Match & Prepare Safely: Before removing the existing unit, compare the replacement carburetor against your original carburetor body, mounting flange, linkage orientation, and complete part number. Shut off the engine, allow it to cool completely, disconnect the ignition/battery per your service manual, and shut off the fuel supply in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
2. Document Linkages & Remove the Existing Carburetor: Label or photograph the routing of all fuel hoses, throttle linkages, choke connections, and mounting hardware. Drain the carburetor float bowl safely according to your service manual, unfasten the mounting bolts, and inspect the intake mounting surfaces and gaskets for wear or damage.
3. Install, Check for Leaks & Test Run with Cooling Water: Mount the replacement carburetor and reconnect all linkages and fuel lines according to your engine service manual, ensuring smooth, unobstructed throttle and choke movement. Prime the fuel system and inspect carefully for any fuel leaks before starting. With a proper cooling water supply connected, start the engine and perform any required idle or mixture adjustments per the factory manual; shut down immediately if any fuel leak, binding linkage, or abnormal operation occurs.
